  This has been my favorite build of 2014 and if you haven't noticed, blue is also my favorite color.  Made from Columbus SL tubing including the fork blades, this bike is strong and super light weight.  Sachs lugs, rap around seat stay, polished dropouts, and internal cable routing.  To top it off we included a custom stem.  Chromed with a high coller to eliminate spacers.  Blue on blue on shiny.  Can't really go wrong [gallery link="file" ids="889,888,887,886,885"]

Stainless Steel Mile Muncher

We decided to use the new Reynolds 931 stainless, a thicker tubing as compared to the 953 tubes. Where 953 is paper-thin, 931 is beefed up by a tenth of a millimetre, which may seem insignificant but makes for a more resilient frame — ideal for the durability needed for this every day mile muncher.

This is a portuer-style track bike with full fenders and front rack capabilities, super rad 7000 series aluminum Phil cranks, hubs and bottom bracket and a Paul ‘Tall and Handsome’ seat post. H+Son rims, King headset. Super nice build, super smooth.”

It’s a classy-yet-functional bike, from the copper-railed Brooks B17 saddle, down to the fork. The fork is also stainless steel, using KVA’s stainless fork blades.

There’s nothing like a slew of Phil Wood & Co components to emphasise an American-made frame, as they’re one of the oldest manufacturers in the US and, along with Paul Components, have been constantly supplying us with innovative design and machining.

Über CX

Über (German pronunciation: [ˈyːbɐ] ( listen), sometimes written ueber, uber or uuber, is a German language word meaning "above", "over" or "across". It is a cognate of both Latin super and Greek ὑπέρ (hyper). I've been amped about this build for a while.  So much so that I'm going to build its stainless brethren any day now.  What makes it an Über CX?  Well, first its the precision tig welded double oversized tubes.  (USA True Temper OX Platinum steel alloy.) Second, it's made with a 44mm oversized head tube for maximum stiffness and control.

The Über CX will be paired with an ENVE disc fork with a 1.5" tapered steerer.  It has robust custom S-bent seat and chain stays allowing it to fit larger 38mm big boy tires.  This pup will be built up with the new SRAM hydraulic Disc brakes. It's getting sent out to Arizona to be thrashed in the rocky deserts of Flag Staff.

Camo Paint Horse Cycles Workshop

Here are a few pics of the camo paint that just came out of the booth!  Three color Camo with a powder coat base for durability.  CX frame made in Manila, the paint really integrated well with the Fillet construction.  The ENVE cyclocross fork looks just super sick.  This bike is for a good friend of the shop Geoffrey Tomes.  Check it!

SuperCross Cup Weekend

Super Cross was this weekend after a cancelation last year due to Sandy.  Super cross was Super cold and Super fun.  It was actually the first time I had been to a cross race and the first time I ever raced a bicycle in my life.  SO RAD!  I got blasted but had a ball.  I was able to see a number of really great friends and great riders including Abigail Isolda and Nate Mumford on their Custom CX Horse bikes as well as Cooper and Willis from the ROSKO / King Cog team.  I took the New Urban Assault Vehicle on the corse for testing and it rode like a dream. Lotus SUPREME

We just finished a 1983 Lotus Supreme restoration.  Full color match and full Dura-Ace.  Campy headset complete with Continental Giro tubulars.  There is something special about bringing these old frames back to life.  Thanks to Adam Greissman for putting in the effort to get this beautiful bike restored. One of the more extensive builds coming out of the shop this month, this bike has it all. Nickel Plated masked and painted with three color branding.

It incorporates a super rad completely self sufficient lighting system coming from the power house SON 28 Schmidt Dynamo front hub that powers E3 supernova front and rear lights. This bike is completely off the grid!  The internal routing though the fork and frame free the rider up from potential snags and gives the bike a cleaner look.  Custom front and rear racks highlighting the cantilever gourds integrated into the design as well as a custom rear tail light mount that lives quietly under the non-drive side dropout.  It runs a complete SRAM force 22 (11 speed) group with a Wifly rear derailuer and cassette for steep climbs. This Bike was commissioned by Ben Stark for a cross country ride coming up in the spring.  I’ll be doing part of the journey with him and look forward to a bit of open road. Keep your eye out for more photo's from the trip.
